Kat
McCord

Creative Director /Co-Founder

Kat grew up in Canada and graduated from Emily Carr University of Art + Design in Vancouver. Leaving the west Coast behind she lived and worked in London for 13 years before calling New York home. Before co-founding Thackway McCord, she was Creative Director at Dewe Rogerson and Lloyd Northover in London and The Gate in New York. US clients include Finra, BlackRock, Storyful, the UN, AlixPartners, XL Catlin and State Street (SPDR) as well as galleries and tech-startups. She is a visiting speaker at Pratt and serves on the board of AIGA where she focuses on community. When not obsessing over letters pacing in the studio, Kat loves photography, drawing, seeing bands, sailing and snowboarding down the mountains with her 20-year old son.

Simon
Thackway

Managing Director /Co-Founder

Simon is from the UK and has 20+ years of brand development experience in North America and Europe. He enjoys bringing people together to find creative solutions that help businesses succeed. US clients include BlackRock, Credit Suisse, Finra, Fortress, State Street (SPDR) and XL Insurance, to name a few. Simon has also advised on the branding of 20+ IPO's, M&A and other deals in Europe and the US. He has a BA in Art History and a life-long passion for design. He surfs for kicks and lives in NYC with his family and dog.

Jonathan Paisner

Brand Strategist

Jonathan has nearly 20 years of consulting experience helping companies (mostly B2B) make it easier for customers to understand what they do, what they’re all about and why they should do business together. He has worked with a broad range of clients - including Cisco Systems, Verifone, TIAA, Cubic, and CIP Capital - to define and embody their brands across everything they say and do. Previously, Jonathan created the licensing division of A&E Television Networks, where History Channel Tours was a favorite among dozens of partnerships he developed and managed. Jonathan enjoys baseball, walking tours and clever punctuation. He has an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BS from Northwestern University.

Lucinda Quartararo

Project Director /Client Services

Lucinda is from the UK and has 15+ years of branding experience in the US and Europe. Her goal on every project is ensuring that things run as smoothly and enjoyably as possible for everyone involved, as happy collaborators generally make for successful projects. Lucinda has worked on a range of clients that includes National Savings, Queens University Belfast, Bank of Bermuda, Messer, ICR, Joel Frank, AlixPartners, VICI Properties, and MN8. Lucinda has a BA Hons degree in English Literature, loves books, language, art, and hiking. She lives in the southwest of England.

Tim Woolliscroft

Digital Designer

Hailing from Birmingham in the UK, Tim got his degree in Graphic Design at Nottingham Trent University in 2015. Before joining TM in late 2022, he worked at three multi-disciplinary agencies in London and Vancouver, designing for clients such as the Royal Academy of Dance, Tipi London and BC Food Hubs. Tim has a range of skills including design, animation and photography. The latter of which you’ll find him doing in his spare time, usually lost somewhere in the English countryside accompanied by his wife and Dachshund.

Samaira Rosado

Project Manager

Samaira graduated from Oakland University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice. Samaira is a marketing professional with experience in complex problem solving, brand management and brand development. She previously worked with Google on numerous marketing campaigns with distinction in brand guidelines. Prior to joining Thackway McCord, Samaira gained start-up experience in the cybersecurity and technology space. She enjoys watching UFC and is passionate about health and fitness.

Dave Morreale

Dave loves to communicate. Making the human connection is paramount - especially in technical endeavors. He strives to understand the storyline in all his work. Dave has 20 years experience leading and contributing to web projects for both multinational corporations and nonprofits. Dave is also a full-stack developer, specializing in open-source CMS development on platforms like Wordpress, Drupal and Magento. Dave’s most recent passion in the industry has been how best to tackle integrating marketing experience across channels where websites serve as the axle around which all touchpoints orbit, and against which they are measured. Dave is looking forward to the next big challenge!

Jeff Lapatine

Naming Specialist

Jeff has over 35 years of naming and brand architecture expertise, working with clients around the world across all major sectors. Jeff’s clients include Citigroup/Citibank, Bank of America, FINRA, First USA, Banco Popular, SunTrust, Morgan Stanley, American Express, SWIFT, Broadridge Financial, Deutsche Bank, Sylvamo and Hum Capital, to name a few. A member of the New York Bar, Jeff is versant in global trademark and linguistic search and clearance, and has lectured at Fordham and Pace Law Schools on naming, brand architecture, and trademark issues. When not providing formal trademark counsel to his branding clients he can be found on the golf course or riding horses in the mid-west.

McClave

Copywriter

John grew up in the Midwest (Grand Rapids, Michigan), was schooled in the East (Princeton) and ended up in the West Coast (San Francisco). A first job in the mailroom of a small ad agency led to a 20-odd year career in communications, including 12 years as a creative director. From high level message strategies to hands-on copywriting, John enjoys the learning that comes with working in a variety of client categories, from high finance and high tech to California wines. In his spare time he can be seen skiing, kayaking or putting together soundtracks for his drives to Lake Tahoe.

Simon has 30 years experience in the research, planning and business of brands. He has worked throughout the world on a variety of blue chip financial brands including Credit Suisse, Unum, State Street, Visa, American Express, Banco Itaú, Royal & Sun Alliance and Nationwide Insurance. Prior to Thackway McCord, he was head of brand consulting at Financial Dynamics and Director of Brand Valuation at Interbrand and Strategic planning Director at Saatchi & Saatchi advertising.

Rosie is the latest (and most enthusiastic) addition to the Thackway McCord team. She’s a three-year old schneagle from Alabama by way of Virginia and now resides in SoHo, where she’s learning to stand tall when passing large trucks! Rosie’s favorite vacation spot is Montauk and she’s a fan of scented typefaces.
